Saturday May 3, 2014 You might remember a post from a few weeks ago about a crowing rooster that sounded like it was in our hen house. And I decided it was our neighbor’s rooster who just came back from Nevada. WRONG. Yesterday I saw one of our old hens CROWING! I did a little research (thanks Google) and found that it is unusual, but that it does happen. It’s usually in a flock of older hens, (yep) who haven’t has a rooster around in a while, (yep) and one of the hens rises in rank enough that she crows! I’ll chalk it up to ‘henopause’. 😉
