We host our Fall Open Barns days each year at the end of September so everyone can see the alpacas and the things we make from our annual fiber harvest. This is our biggest event of the year. We will be open both days from 10 – 4. Open Barn Days 2017 will be September 23 and 24. We hope you will join us.
Cell phone reception is minimal at the ranch. Text 801-898-0145 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for quickest reply. Text and email gets through to our phones while calls usually do not.
We love dogs, but our alpacas do not, so we ask that you leave your dogs at home when you come to visit. Our livestock guardian dogs have a job to keep all other dogs out of the alpaca pastures and they take this job quite seriously.
Frequently asked Question: “My kids saw the alpacas on TV and just want to come and pet them. Is this OK?”
The truth is that most alpacas do not like to be petted. Some will stand still for it, most will not. We do not allow our younger visitors to chase the alpacas in order to touch them. We have created a safe environment for the alpacas here and we believe that the way to keep them healthy is to minimize stress. Thank you for understanding.
