Alpaca lawn mowers?

Sunday April 23,2017  The alpacas trimmed the back lawn for us yesterday and got their bellies full of nice tender grass. I should explain that we planted the back lawn specifically with this in mind. It is a blend of orchard grass and Kentucky bluegrass and we never use weed killers or fertilizers on it. I occasionally get calls from people who want some alpacas to clean up their “weeds”, and for that I think you would best use a goat. Some grasses and weeds are toxic to alpacas and they are actually particular about what they eat.  So there’s your alpaca factoid for the day. Happy Sunday!

Photo of the day: Flavia thought the grass was especially yummy.
