Thursday, November 19, 2015 Our winter bedding in the barn is working out well so far. The alpaca girls are avoiding the windy weather we’ve had lately and they all have a kushy spot to chill out in the barn with plenty of soft hay all over in there. The boys’ barn is just at cozy, I added more hay to their bedding yesterday and they are all staying in as well. Unlike some other livestock alpacas DO need shelter. If they get wet before a cold spell, hypothermia can be deadly. So we take no chances and every single one of them has a warm place to hang out when they want it. Happy Thursday!
