Friday May 2, 2014 The big barn is all clean and ready for shearing! (Or a barn dance, LOL) The alpacas got to spend time mowing the back yard while we cleaned it out so they were happy. I should mention that we let them “mow” the lawns because we planted the grass around the house with that in mind. Rye grass and fescue are not the best for alpacas and those 2 grasses are in most grass blend you will find, so we had our own seed mix made. We use Orchard grass and Kentucky Blue grass. They love it, and they turn that grass into lovely fleeces! Happy Friday!
